The monsoon season in Haryana transforms both the topography and the cultural rhythm of the state. As dry soil yields to verdant green fields, two major festivals anchor the festive calendar: *Haryali Teej* and *Goga Navami*.
### Teej: The Celebration of Greenery and Sisterhood
Celebrated on the third day of the bright fortnight of Shravana, Teej is especially cherished by young brides and daughters. Giant woven swings (*Peepli*) are tied to aged neem and banyan trees. Clad in vibrant green and red dresses with henna-adorned palms, women gather to sing traditional swing songs while savoring festive delicacies like *Ghewar*.
### Goga Navami: Guardian of the Harvest
Celebrated in the month of Bhadrapada, Goga Navami honors the folk deity Jaharveer Goga Ji. Decorated bamboo staves adorned with peacock feathers, blue flags, and silver umbrellas (*Chhari*) are carried in procession from house to house, blessing cattle and crops against misfortune.
